German online course on hate speech starts 29 August

Hate speech is a growing problem online and especially young users are frequently confronted with it. But how can you face this phenomenon? Answers are provided in the online course “Hate Speech – Was tun?”, which is suitable for both interested beginners and experienced practitioners. The course offers basic understanding of the subject and links to materials with further information, which can also be used for (media) educational purposes. Strategies like counter speech, monitoring or the reporting channels of different platforms are explained in a comprehensible way.
Interactive learning methods facilitate the learning process: In discussion boards, the participants can discuss questions with the group and experienced tutors. In webinars, guest lecturers provide fasci-nating input about practical approaches. Upon successful completion of the course, participants have the opportunity to earn a certificate.
