Disability Hate Crime: A Guide…

‘According to the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, efforts to combat discrimination, especially hate crime, have not been successful. Whilst official monitoring of disability hate crime is limited, the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) – Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) have recognised it as a prevalent issue facing our communities. There is evidence suggesting that crimes motivated by the perceived or actual disability attributed to an individual are occurring in various countries across Europe.’
